Q: When I try to "apply" the Aero feature, it
acts like it is changing, but once I close and
reopen it reverts back to Vista Basic. How can I
get Aero to run correctly?
A: I have seen this behavior before. It is
likely that an installed program is interfering
with Aero. Try this:
- Press the Windws
key + "R" on your keyboard
- In the command
prompt type in: msconfig [Enter] or click OK
- Click the "Startup"
tab at the top right
- Uncheck the
Quicktime program.
- Exit MSCONFIG and
reboot your system
- Test your Aero
feature. If it still fails to run, go through the
above steps and uncheck all of the entries in
"Startup", then exit MSCONFIG and reboot.
