Q: I have had many problems getting this work
computer to function correctly. Many programs
just refuse to run in Windows Vista. I would
like to know how to go back to Windows XP as
that Operating System ran fine with all of my
programs.
A: In order to remove Vista, you will need to
backup any files that you've created in Vista
and then perform a clean installation of Windows
XP. Here's how:
- Go
to Start>> All Programs>> Maintenance>> Backup and
Restore Center.
-
Click Backup Files. You may receive a prompt asking
for administrative credentials.
- A
window will now appear asking where you would like
to save your backup files. Browse to your location
of choice and then click Next.
- The
next window asks how often you would like to create
a backup. Select whatever you deem appropriate and
click "Save Settings and Start Backup".
-
Once the backup completes successfully, you can now
perform a clean installation of your Windows XP
Operating System.
