Support For Windows Vista

Q: I have had many problems getting this work computer to function correctly. Many programs just refuse to run in Windows Vista. I would like to know how to go back to Windows XP as that Operating System ran fine with all of my programs.

A: In order to remove Vista, you will need to backup any files that you've created in Vista and then perform a clean installation of Windows XP. Here's how:

  1. Go to Start>> All Programs>> Maintenance>> Backup and Restore Center.
  2. Click Backup Files. You may receive a prompt asking for administrative credentials.
  3. A window will now appear asking where you would like to save your backup files. Browse to your location of choice and then click Next.
  4. The next window asks how often you would like to create a backup. Select whatever you deem appropriate and click "Save Settings and Start Backup".
  5. Once the backup completes successfully, you can now perform a clean installation of your Windows XP Operating System.
